We provide emotional and practical support to people living with HIV and work with communities to help educate and reduce the stigma and social marginalisation often associated with the condition.
To provide high quality, appropriate services to a changing service user group and to take a high profile in reducing stigma and prejudice attached to HIV in our local communities through education, and working in partnership with other voluntary organisations and statutory bodies.
Positive Action aims to:
- To alleviate physical and mental distress or hardship caused by HIV, in particular by establishing a confidential counselling and support service for people living with HIV in Hampshire and Surrey.
- To provide community education, information and advice to help reduce further infections of HIV and reduce the stigma surrounding it.
- To develop good working relationships with statutory agencies and other organisations with similar aims and objectives within the voluntary sector.
