“Sustainable Development means “development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”
Eudaimonia operates the Super Kitchen project in the UK, taking surplus food from FareShare and the food industry and encouraging communities to upcycle the food into affordable, healthy meals that can be enjoyed by the whole community via social eating events that encourage community cohesion, support the development of health and well-being and help eliminate social isolation.
The meals are paid for by donations and those that cannot afford to donate can eat free through volunteering. Children always eat free. Each social eating event is used to train those disadvantaged in the labour market with valuable hospitality and catering skills and qualifications that will assist future job search activities.
