We have been communicating the Christian Faith since 1698.
We publish around 80 Christian books a year and also give books away to overseas theology students and prisoners.

    SPCK is well known for publishing Christian books, producing around 80 titles a year, with a backlist of 700, by authors such as Rowan Williams, Tom Wright and Alastair McGrath.

    We also run the following projects:

    School Assemblies website: providing free resources for teachers. The site has received over 37 million hits in the last year.

    Prison fiction project: short, exciting, easy-to-read books for prisoners who are struggling with reading, that emphasise the value of loving relationships.

    International Study Guide programme: sending free context-appropriate theology books to students in the developing world who would not otherwise be able to afford them.

    Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge (SPCK) aims to:

    • support the education of needy theology students in developing countries
    • publish high-quality, accessible Christian literature: around 80 titles a year by authors such as Rowan Williams and Alaster McGrath
    • provide materials for school assemblies: our website received 36 million hits in 2012
    • help prisoners to improve their reading skills while learning to appreciate the value of loving relationships through our prison fiction scheme
