St Luke’s Hospice provides palliative care services to the communities of Basildon, Billericay, Wickford and Thurrock, a population of 375,000. Services are provided 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

    To provide the highest level of care for individuals and their relatives and friends, through the provision of acute, specialist and multidisciplinary care as well as emotional and spiritual support.

    Care is delivered as flexibly as possible enabling patients to make their own choices about the care they receive and where that care is delivered.

  • Aims

    St Luke's Hospice (Basildon And District) Limited aims to:

    • To provide a caring and homely environment whilst remaining a centre of excellence, where support for patients and families are provided during the illness and after death, without discrimination.
    • To maintain and enhance the quality of life for our patients, caring for each of them as a whole person, offering the right to be treated with dignity, sensitivity, compassion and understanding.
    • To provide wherever possible, information and support to enable patients and families to make their own choices about the care they receive and the setting in which it is provided.
    • To teach patients, carers, professionals and the public about palliative and end of life care, so those involved in care delivery feel competent and confident to care.
