We support disadvantaged communities by facilitating skills-sharing between residents. We provide information, advocacy, and intensive support at times of crisis. Group activities and skill-building.

  • Mission statement

    We support residents of the socially and economically deprived area of the West End of Newcastle upon Tyne, working with people of all ages, ethnicities and social backgrounds. We promote community cohesion through our diverse membership by:

    • operating a time bank (skills-sharing charity) as a means of relieving poverty, advancing education, relieving unemployment and promoting vocational training for the benefit of the public in the area.
    • developing the capacity and skills of the members of the community to enable them to participate more fully in society, and become economically active.
    • advancing the education of the public by the provision of information and advice related to health, housing and welfare rights.

  • Aims

    Time Exchange Limited aims to:

    • Operating a time bank as a means of relieving poverty, advancing education, relieving unemployment and promoting vocational training for the benefit of the public in the area.
    • Developing the capacity and skills of the members of the community in such a way that they are better able to identify and meet their needs and to enable them to participate more fully in society.
    • Advancing the education of the public by the provision of information and advice with reference to welfare rights and health related issues. We also provide a gateway to statutory services.
