ICP Support is looking for a Trustee to join its’ Board of Trustees. ICP (Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy) is the most common liver condition of pregnancy and is one of the causes of stillbirth. ICP Support was founded in 1991 and has been operating as a charity since 2012. ICP Support works hard to raise awareness of the condition, supports people affected by it and funds research into trying to find ways to protect unborn babies. ICP Support is looking for someone who has had previous experience of working as a Trustee of a charity and who can help the charity to continue to grow.
Our vision is that every ICP baby is born safely
ICP is the most common genetic liver condition of pregnancy, affecting around 5,000 women a year in the UK. Six babies are stillborn every day in the UK and sadly, intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) will be one of the causes.
The Charity's object (the Object) is the relief of sickness and preservation of good health among women affected by the liver condition of pregnancy called intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) also known as obstetric cholestasis (OC), in particular but not exclusively by:
a. Providing information and support to such women and their families;
b. Advancing education for the public benefit of the condition;
c. Promoting, supporting and raising funds for research into the condition, the useful results of which will be disseminated for the public benefit
