    Graeae's mission is to ignite artistic curiosity, pioneer a radical dramatic language, champion accessibility and provide a platform for new generations of Deaf and disabled artists locally, nationally and internationally, through the creation of trail-blazing theatre.

  • Aims

    Graeae Theatre Company Ltd aims to:

    • Graeae is a force for change in world-class theatre, presenting a unique approach which: 1. Boldly places disabled artists centre-stage in a diverse range of new and existing plays
    • 2. Pioneers a radical dramatic language by exploring the “aesthetics of access”,creatively embedding a range of tools (i.e. sigh language or captioning) from very beginning of the artistic process.
    • 3. Explores new territory and theatrical genres – from contemporary classics to musicals, to the outdoor circuit… with sway poles and giant puppets!
    • 4. Graeae champions the inclusion of Deaf and disabled people in the arts through a wide variety of initiatives including training for actors and writers, workshops for young people and access support
