Stepping Stones - Uganda
Stepping Stones - Uganda
A non-governmental organisation (NGO) committed to addressing poverty by working in partnership with the communities that we serve to build sustainable, healthy and productive communities in Uganda.
To help some of the poorest families in Uganda by providing a platform to help themselves out of poverty.
We seek to address poverty and destitution faced by many communities in Uganda by implementing 'grassroots' solutions to local challenges in an effort to help people help themselves. We work alongside communities to find practical solutions to the poverty they face and work to provide for their physical, spiritual and emotional needs. We actively seek to work with communities and adopt a collaborative approach, sharing knowledge and experience.
Putting communities first – Our sustainable agriculture enterprises are people centred. We focus on providing support on what matters most to the people we serve, respects their rights, beliefs, abilities and needs, and supports their own efforts to enrich the quality of their lives and break the barrier that poverty poses.
Forging Partnerships – Communities living in poverty are partners in their own development. We provide the catalyst to help them access information and knowledge. We promote a communal and collaborative model of service that fosters a sense of ownership, pride and participatory development among the communities that we serve.
Conserving for future generations – All projects are implemented with environmental conservation and sustainable development as the principle goal. All projects aim to be sustainable – economically, environmentally, socially and institutionally.
