OutREACH Cumbria is an LGBT charity based in Carlisle that provides help, support and advice to LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Trans*) people living, working, studying, and visiting Cumbria.

  • Mission statement

    OutREACH Cumbria is the main service provider for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans* support, advise and engagement in the North Cumbria area. Our physical services may only reach the North of Cumbria, but we do work county wide and are here to help anyone within Cumbria, and the surrounding areas. We have a range of different services, groups, projects and opportunities on offer.
    We promote equality and diversity for the public benefit and in particular the elimination of discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity of those living in Cumbria and the surrounding areas by raising awareness of the public about the issues and difficulties affecting the lives of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) people.

  • Aims

    Outreach Cumbria Limited aims to:

    • Promote Equality and Diversity in and around Cumbria to help tackle discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity.
    • Raise public awareness around the issues and difficulties affecting the lives of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans* people in Cumbria.
    • To provide help, advice and support to the LGBT community in Cumbria.
    • To help tackle and prevent Homophobic and Transphobic hate crime and hate incidents in Cumbria.
    • To work in partnership with local and regional government, councils, police, schools, colleges, universities and other organisations and government bodies to provide help and advice around LGBT issues
