St Madoc Christian Youth Camp

St Madoc provides opportunities for children and young people to enjoy day and residential visits on Gower, Britain's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Founded 1944

  • Mission statement

St Madoc was established in 1945 when local philanthropist, Mr W F Burr donated 76 acres of land on The Gower, Swansea for the purpose of creating a youth centre in a beautiful area of the countryside, right by the sea. The expressed intention was that. . . ‘while lives were being shattered (by WWII) this land & centre was given for the ‘healing of the soul’.

The purpose of this generous gift was therefore to benefit young people and our vision continues to be. . .

‘To provide time and space for exploration and growth in an Area of
    Outstanding Natural Beauty’

St Madoc mainly serves the City and County of Swansea, bit we welcome visitors from all over the UK, and beyond.
