Founded 1980

  • Mission statement

Music in Hospitals aims to improve the quality of life for people of all ages in long-term care. This takes place through the provision of live musical performances, given by professional musicians in hospitals, hospices, day care centres, care homes and special schools throughout Scotland.

Our musicians, who are all carefully selected following a rigorous audition procedure, perform their informal and highly inclusive performances in many different settings: on hospital wards, in day-rooms, in schools, in playrooms, care home sitting rooms, and at the bedsides of those who are acutely unwell.

1,701 concerts were given across Scotland during 2013/14.
