Headway Aylesbury Vale is the only independent local charity, affiliated to Headway UK, which provides services, training and support for Acquired Brain Injury survivors, their families and carers

  • Mission statement

    Our mission is to provide services, training and support that will form one of the stepping stones of choice for all people affected by Acquired Brain Injury in the local area, as part of their pathway towards regaining their greatest possible independence.

    The causes of Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) include accidents, strokes, brain tumours, meningitis, heart attack, suicide attempts, near drowning, electrocution, drug overdose and exposure to toxic substances

    At our specially adapted premises we offer ABI survivors and their families and carers a range of services including:
    - A choice of therapeutic activities
    - Assistance in learning/re-learning everyday skills
    - Promoting independence, healthy living and community interaction
    - Carer support and training
