IRMO is a migrant led, non-profit organization that provides support to the Latin American community since 1985. Our main aims are to combat poverty, defend human rights and empower community members.

  • Mission statement

    Our mission is to promote any charitable purpose for the benefit of people of Indoamerican origin, primarily but not exclusively resident in Great Britain, by the advancement of education and culture, the protection of health and the relief of poverty, sickness and distress.

    We seek to:
    • Defend our community members’ human rights and combat poverty
    • Empower our community members to enable them to build a stable life in the UK
    • Raise awareness of poverty and human rights abuses faced by our community
    • Promote harmony and cooperation in our community and celebrate our culture and identity
    • Promote cultural exchange and cooperation between our community and others
    • Raise awareness about human rights abuses and poverty in Latin America which cause migration and work towards the resolution of these problems

    We will achieve this by:
    • Providing free bilingual advice, advocacy and support
    • Working in partnership with governmental and non-governmental organizations
    • Developing projects to promote our community’s social, cultural, educational and economic development
    • Involving our community in all aspects of the management of the organization
    • Making our services as accessible as possible for our community
    • Training our staff and volunteers to achieve the highest standards of service delivery
