Mission statement
Heartline provides support to children with a heart condition and their Families through our website, Facebook and Twitter, by mail, email and telephone. Information is conveyed verbally, via telephone in emergency situations, through chat on Facebook, via email and printed or online newsletters and publications, with accessible diagrams, illustrations and pictures. We can advise on other sources of information and support, and refer to other support networks who can help both professionally and socially if Heartline does not have the expertise or facility. We work with national organisations and other charities to improve health and social services, which provides the opportunity for families to contribute to research and data collection for future improvements in the care of heart children.
Heartline has over 2600 registered ‘associate members’ who have provided their circumstances in order to qualify as a member entitled to the benefits the charity can provide. They are also valued supporters of the work Heartline is doing.
Heartline has published a well-respected handbook for parents 'Heart Children – A Practical Handbook for Parents' for many years, which is provided free for registered members. It is also sold to hospitals and clinicians and any other interested parties.
We provide heart children Families with many benefits and services including a platform for Families to engage in one-on-one support, based on personal experiences of registered member -
