Middle East Media

Middle East Media works in the Middle East producing transformational media and running educational training events for people of the region and trainers of other NGOs.

Founded 1976

  • Mission statement

Over the last four decades MEM has been producing attractive, compelling media. Through magazines, websites, film, animation and satellite TV programmes we have been exploring and exposing some of the key human rights issues in the Middle East, giving a voice to the disempowered and dispossessed and offering creative, new ways forward. Our well-respected and much demanded projects and training events, developed by our Middle Eastern team members, are designed to engage with different audiences and promote positive change.

Using media as a key catalyst for empowerment and transformation in the Middle East, MEM promotes choice in all its media productions and training events encouraging our audience to take responsibility for their life, direction and decisions.

To date we have trained 11,000 people in media and development and trained the trainers of other NGOs.

Our current projects focus on the following five areas:

    Children and Families
    Gender
    Human Trafficking
    Inter-faith Dialogue
    Young Adults
