Foundation For Active Community Engagement (FACE)

FACE provides youth and community services in the local community of Filton and wider afield; offering informal education and social activities for children, young people and vulnerable adults.
FACE aims to enable and empower people to make positive changes and make a difference in their lives, and their community.
Much of our work is with people with social, learning, communication and behavioural difficulties and disabilities, and a main focus for this is on what people CAN do/achieve.

Founded 2014

  • Mission statement

FACE is a registered youth and community charity based in Filton, north Bristol, just in South Gloucestershire. Filton was one of 6 priority neighbourhoods; due to higher levels of crime and poverty, and lower levels of educational attainment and poor health.
Our work is focused on inclusivity for those who are disadvantaged and developing effective quality work with young people, and those of all ages, so that people in our community are better encouraged, educated, and informed to make positive changes in their lives.
We run youth clubs for age 7-19 as well as sensory groups, and weekly club activities for children and adults with disabilities. We run Duke of Edinburgh’s awards, ASDAN awards and can also deliver mentoring and support packages in-and-out of school in areas such as Relationships and Sex Education, Confidence & Self-esteem, Risky Behaviours and Self Injury. We run a weekly 'Silver Surfers' IT support drop-in as well as Community learning courses for adults with below level 2 qualifications.
We help people to attain new skills and improve confidence and self-esteem, through their gaining recognition and awards, developing active citizenship, developing awareness of the world around us and encouraging volunteering.
We tackle societal issues and pressures such as drugs, alcohol, housing, diet, image, and mental and physical health in a safe and structured way that people can easily relate to and make changes for themselves.
