Street Life partners with an NGO in India providing education, food and health care to children and families living in slums in Mumbai and Kolkata. We also provide financial help for Children's homes.
Street Life has partnered with an NGO in India who provide education, food, health care and sports coaching to children and families living in slums in Mumbai. Through fundraising activities and donations, Street Life will use the money to help fund education, health care, vocational skills training and sports training projects. Trustees will also travel to India and volunteer their services. This will include teacher training, school management, sports coaching and medical advice and training. Street Life will also help to fund the training and development of the NGO's staff and will also be looking to provide financial help to Children's Homes in India.
Street Life aims to:
- Children and families in the slums will benefit from the health care provided. They will have free access to doctors, dentists, medication and hospital treatment and will be given health care advice.
- Children will have access to free education on buses transformed into classrooms and through new schools being set up. They will gain basic skills in maths, Hindi and English otherwise unavailable.
- Girls rescued from prostitution are able to receive counselling and learn new vocational skills to help them get jobs.
- Boys from the streets receive sports coaching helping develop them physically and allowing them to learn new skills.
