Charity information

Bright Sparks School India

Bright Sparks is a small informal school serving children from a slum area known as ‘the colony’ in Mohali, Northern India. There are around 110 pupils at the school which offers a flexible approach to education engaging children who would otherwise be illiterate. The children come from extreme poverty, many have part time jobs and/or work responsibilities in the home. Even state education comes at a 'nominal price' in Mohali which prevents these children from accessing an education. The charity teaches children to read and write improving their life chances, making the world easier to navigate, and enriching their personal experience of life.
