Kashmir Development Foundation (KDF) is a community development organisation working for relief of poverty, social justice, peacebuilding, and strengthening participatory governance in J&K.

    Vision - Our vision is an open, peaceful and prosperous society

    Mission - Kashmir Development Foundation exists to empower the Voice of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, and Kashmiri Diaspora in UK, Europe and elsewhere by working with the people to prevent or relieve poverty and inequality; supporting community development initiatives and partnerships to improve peoples’ quality of life, education, Health and well-being; and delivering training, engagement, research and enterprise solutions for all sectors.

    KDF has committed itself to ensure that members of the Kashmiri Diaspora in the UK, Europe and elsewhere, are supported and empowered in the process of shaping and influencing public policy and projects that affect their lives and livelihoods in their countries of residence and in Jammu Kashmir. It continues to support small and medium size Kashmiri voluntary and community groups across the UK and in Jammu Kashmir through research, training, policy development, funding advice, grants and networking opportunities.

  • Aims

    Kashmir Development Foundation aims to:

    • Empowering voice of under-represented people and communities to inform and influence public policy for the advancement of participatory decentralised and democratic governance
    • Advancing the knowledge of the general public in the history and culture of Jammu and Kashmir
    • Campaigning for social justice, equality and protection of human rights
    • Supporting networks and partnership to build the capacity of local civil society organisation to meaningfully engage in peacebuilding, conflict transformation and socio-economic development.
    • Relief of poverty within the socially and economically disadvantaged community of Jammu and Kashmir.
