HTE Ltd

Based in Hackney, North London, HTE Ltd is an innovative out-of-school programme, for disadvantaged, local young people, aged 13-16 years. We provide much needed activities in a safe environment.

Founded 1999

  • Mission statement

We offer heavily subsidized, and for many users in need, free out-of-school programmes to supplement their education and give them healthy outlets in a safe environment. We provide fun-filled programmes where they try out new activities. Many activities are a first-time experience for these young people. We give everyone of the attending young people the opportunity to excel in many different ways as well as the chance to make new friends and develop their social skills.
We aim for the neediest young people from low income and dysfunctional families. These adolescents are at a critical stage in their development. The families of these young people don't have the resources to attend extracurricular programmes. 40% of our users also have mild-moderate learning difficulties, which mean that school life is, for the most part, a nightmare. Sport/recreation are often areas where they may be able to shine, but, due to financial reasons, they don't have the opportunity to do so. We are trying to give them these opportunities.

  • Aims

    HTE Ltd aims to:

    • We provide a homework club for children from non-English speaking parents to ensure that they can succeed in school. We also offer healthy snacks to teach them the importance of healthy eating habits.
    • To ensure young people don't engage in anti-social behaviour during school holidays we're running summer programmes. Instead of smoking and drinking we let young people have some fun doing sports etc.
