Union Dance Trust Limited as a BME led educational charity, with its mission encouraging intercultural understanding, and benefiting communities through Cultural Educational Engagement.
Union Dance enables specialist training, best suited mentoring and skills development, for vulnerable people building their confidence, in 8-10 projects per year. Delivering intensive training / activities, through a touring programme of arts production, workshop residencies, pre talks and digital sessions.
The programme aims to help discover cultural, leadership and artistic talents with also volunteering opportunities. Career development through distinctive professional expertise increases creativity thinking, and health and wellbeing benefiting communities, as inspirational, informative, enjoyable and accessible.
Participants learn ways to express themselves through artistic mediums, the opportunity to develop new skills, to build self confidence, to find community with others; activities that meet their needs, and play a more active role in their community often through the volunteering opportunities.
Main beneficiaries are NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) Black and minority ethnic groups Disadvantaged / Low Income Ex Offenders and Prisoners Alcohol / Drug Addiction Primary: People with mental health difficulties Black African and White Other Mixed Ethnicity, Black Volunteering individuals Young Adults (19 - 25) Adults (26 - 65).
Evidence that participants are supported, able to prepare and respond to the challenges they face. Increase confidence and skills in self-expression and creativity, with focus on identity and clarity of communication.
