YSDT supports young people aged 13-19 gain vocational, social and functional skills through training and pastoral support. Since 2009, over 550 young people have engaged in training courses.

  • Mission statement

    YSDT supports socially and economically disadvantaged young people to progress towards positive life outcomes, through delivering opportunities that develop their vocational, social, and functional skills.

    The charity works with some of the most challenging young people who have had difficulties in formal education, personal life, and those who have been disadvantaged through their disability and/or educational needs.

    Through a combination of skilled tutors and qualified youth workers, YSDT works with these young people in an informal setting where they feel relaxed and more willing to engage and participate.

    We believe our purpose as a charity is to support young people aged between 13 and 19 to develop key vocational, functional, and social skills required to be effectively engaged in employment and society.

    Youth Skills Development Trust Limited aims to:

    • To deliver a range of accredited training programmes that equip young people with the competencies required to engage in vocational career paths of their choice
    • To deliver a range of informal learning programmes that increase young people's resilience to at-risk, anti-social, and offending behaviours
    • To deliver a range of pastoral support and development programmes that equip young people with the social skills and awareness required to fulfil their potential as members of society
