A mentoring and educational presentations scheme based in Sheffield, addressing the issues surrounding offending and resettlement of women in the criminal justice system.

  • Mission statement

    To create opportunities for female prisoners both in prison and upon release, and to empower, motivate and encourage prisoners to make informed choices. To tackle the personal and societal obstacles that women with criminal convictions are faced with upon release and thereby create a more inclusive society.

  • Aims

    Key Changes - Unlocking Womens Potential aims to:

    • To deliver a mentoring scheme to female prisoners who require support and assistance in prison and upon release, providing information, skills and strategies to help achieve personal goals and targets
    • To set up a women's centre which will provide a safe and secure place for women to access independent living skills such as cooking, sewing and a place to meet friends
    • To create training and employment for women in the criminal justice system. This will be developed in the form of a training salon, in a safe and non-judgmental environment
