Cavendish Cancer Care
Cavendish Cancer Care
At Cavendish we are dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living with cancer. We provide emotional and physical support to local people and their families when they need it most.
At Cavendish Cancer Care we recognise that cancer doesn’t only affect the person diagnosed, but their whole family as they struggle to come to terms with this life-changing news. We are unique in offering support to cancer patients, their carers and their children through counselling and a wide range of complementary therapies. Our care is available to people at any stage of their journey with cancer, from diagnosis through to many years after the completion of treatment, as they live with the lifelong consequences of this disease.
We are able to offer an initial appointment within five working days of someone contacting us for help. We see the person, not the disease, and at this appointment our specially-trained assessors will help to draw out each individual’s most pressing concerns and worries and devise a tailored package of therapy. Depending on the particular therapies chosen, Cavendish support may help to reduce physical symptoms such as pain and nausea, ease stress and anxiety or promote improved sleep and diet. Most importantly our service gives people space and time to talk, think and take back control of their situation. We reduce people’s sense of isolation by allowing them to express the concerns they cannot share with their loved ones due to feelings of guilt and worry about upsetting them. By offering joined up support to whole families we enable them to better support one another and to stay strong together.
Cavendish Cancer Care aims to:
- ensure that every local person affected by cancer has the emotional and physical support they need to maximise their quality of life during and after treatment.
