Pendle Dogs In Need

We are a local dog rescue run by volunteers helping unwanted dogs in our area, providing vets treatment, vac and neuter as a min and finding good new homes. We provide education and support for owners.

  • Mission statement

    The mission statement of Pendle Dogs In Need is to promote humane behaviour towards animals by providing appropriate care, protection, treatment and security for animals which are in need of care and attention by reason of sickness, maltreatment, poor circumstances or ill usage and to educate the public in matters pertaining to animal welfare in general and the prevention of cruelty and suffering among animals.

  • Aims

    Pendle Dogs In Need aims to:

    • To take in and help dogs from our local area that are abandoned, unwanted or whose owners are no longer in a position to care for them.
    • To place the aforementioned dogs in foster homes for assessment, recovery and training.
    • To provide any necessary vets treatment the dogs made need. All dogs to be vaccinated, treat for fleas and worms, microchipped and neutered as a minimum with any other treatment needed also provided.
    • To find good homes for all the dogs we help through a process of home checking, matching dogs to homes and slow introductions followed by a trial period to ensure success. Life time back up is offered
    • To offer support for local dog owners eg, free microchipping, food parcels, help with walking, advice etc Plus an education programme encouraging neutering etc Also help with reuniting lost dogs.
