  • Mission statement

Established in 2001 Doxford Youth Project is a charitable organisation working with young people in particular, but not exclusively who reside in areas which are considered to be most deprived according to the Indices of Multiple Deprivation.
The project aims to raise the aspirations and confidence of young people and provide them with informal education, advice and guidance, engage them in positive activities and refrain from anti-social behaviour. The project uses a variety of methods to engage the young people such as detached work (working with young people in their own environments i. E. “on the streets where they hang around”) outreach work (setting up a regular session in an area for young people to attend and participate in a range of activities) and group work (working with smaller focused groups of young people to make decisions about the organisation, to raise money and plan their own projects).

  • Aims

    Doxford Youth Project aims to:

    • Engage 20% of all young people in the areas we which deliver youth provision
    • To work on small projects to develop young people's key skills to benefit themselves and their communities
    • 10% of the young people we engage with to achieve a recognised qualification. accreditation or certification
    • To develop a tool to assess young people's social and emotional capabilities to outline areas for improvement and support young people in that journey
