Charity information

west lothian me self help group (wlmesh)

West Lothian Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) Self-help Group (WLMESH) was established in 1984 to support sufferers of the condition along with their families, friends and carers. We currently have 2 monthly meetings and also try to organise various social events or outings throughout the year.

Founded 1984

  • Mission statement

We currently meet twice per month, allowing members to meet up and socialise; for some of our members this is the only time they manage to leave their home for social reasons.

At WLMESH we support carers and friends of sufferers as well as the sufferer themselves. This condition as a wide range of symptoms and effects the sufferer physically, emotionally and mentally.

We have recently secured our own premises which has given us wider opportunity to extend the number of sessions we offer. Any donations we receive are used to help run these premises and for us to look at ways with in which we can raise the profile of our charity, reaching a wider audience within the county of West Lothian, and hopefully alerting other sufferers of ME/CFS to our Charity.
