Armonico Consort Limited

Our organisation is a choir, orchestra and opera company, striving to bring Baroque, Renaissance and Contemporary music to new audiences through engaging and accessible performances.

Founded 2001

  • Mission statement

Since our founding in 2001, we have experimented with ways of bringing Baroque, Renaissance and Contemporary music to new audiences, increasing accessibility and engagement through creative concerts, opera and participatory outreach. We have performed at prestigious festivals including Bath, Lichfield, Buxton, Tel Aviv and Trento, venues including The Barbican, Malvern Theatres and the Royal Albert Hall, and regular broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM. We reach 25,000 through live performances annually. In tandem with our performances, we have built a participatory music and drama creative learning programme, AC Academy, which engages more than 10,000 children and young people annually in different projects, described in 2013 by the Department for Education in their annual review document as delivering “exceptional cultural outreach practice".
