The Learning Curve (Voluntary Sector Development)

The Learning Curve improves the lives of socially and economically disadvantaged people through providing high quality and accessible training, education and guidance.

Founded 2001

  • Mission statement

Our mission is to maximise potential through learning and development. As a result of our work, socially and economically disadvantaged people are able to lead fulfilled lives and support themselves.

Our main beneficiaries include young people, in particular young parents and young people not in education, employment or training (NEETs), unemployed adults including carers, ex-offenders and long-term unemployed, older people and volunteers. The learning opportunities we provide include employability skills, core skills (Maths, English, IT), parenting skills, careers advice and guidance, digital inclusion, CPD and ESOL.

Supporting young people is our number one priority in our 2013-16 strategy. We do this through various programmes which have successfully led to learners gaining the skills and confidence to move into employment or further training.

We aim to multiply the impact of The Learning Curve by providing support and training to enable third sector organisations to achieve the same purpose.

Our main geographical areas of operation include Wiltshire, Swindon, Bristol and Plymouth.
