WheelPower, the national charity for wheelchair sport, provides opportunities, facilities and equipment which enable disabled people to play sport and lead healthy active lives.

  • Mission statement

    WheelPower, a registered charity and National Disability Sports Organisation, aims to provide, promote and develop opportunities for people to participate in recreational and competitive wheelchair sport.

    WheelPower aims:
    • to increase participation in wheelchair sport by working in partnership with all relevant sports bodies, including national governing bodies of sport, to provide and develop opportunities within wheelchair sport through a range of activities and events (“Activity”)
    • to provide world leading facilities at Stoke Mandeville Stadium to support the development of wheelchair and other disability sport alongside delivery of community facilities to support this (“Facility”)
    • to raise awareness of WheelPower of its role within wheelchair sport building on the momentum from the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (“Awareness”)

    WheelPower organises a range of programmes at grass roots level to introduce young and newly disabled people to sport and is committed to work in partnership with all relevant sports bodies, including national governing bodies of sport, to provide and develop opportunities within wheelchair sport. WheelPower also provide facilities at Stoke Mandeville Stadium for wheelchair and disability sport in an inclusive environment.
