    To reduce the harms experienced by the public from drugs both legal and controlled. We do this through groundbreaking scientific research carried out by our team of leading drugs experts and through objective drugs information and advice to the public, decision-makers and external organisations based on the best available research.

  • Aims

    Independent Scientific Committee on Drugs aims to:

    • 1. TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE HARMS OF DRUG TAKING TO HELP PREVENT AND MITIGATE THE SUFFERING CAUSED BY DRUG HARMS AND ASSOCIATED BEHAVIOURS
    • 2. TO PROMOTE THE GOOD HEALTH OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC BY PROVIDING ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC AND PRACTITIONERS WHO ARE IMPACTED BY DRUG TAKING IN ANY WAY
    • 3. TO PROMOTE RESEARCH, FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC, IN THE SUBJECT OF DRUGS AND DRUG TAKING & INTO ITS EFFECTS ON THE PUBLIC AND SOCIETY IN GENERAL, WHETHER PHYSICAL, MEDICAL, PSYCHOLOGICAL OR SO
