Blesma, The Limbless Veterans helps all serving and ex-Service men and women who have lost limbs, or lost the use of limbs or eyes, to rebuild their lives by providing rehabilitation activities and welfare support. Our programmes allow Members and their families to face the challenges ahead with renewed confidence and self-belief.

  • Aims

    British Limbless Ex-service Men's Association (BLESMA) aims to:

    • Fellowship - Bringing together established amputees and those more recently injured in the spirit of supportive fellowship, both veteran and serving amputees.
    • Advice - Our Support Officers offer specialist advice on living with amputation including advice on benefits and allowances and assisting Members in claiming them.
    • Campaigning - Acting as the voice of limbless veterans, ensuring they get the funding and resources they need and deserve, and campaigning for their rights where and when appropriate.
    • Prosthetics - Supporting Members in their dealings with the NHS Limb Service, to ensure they get the best possible service and support.
    • Activities - Giving amputees the chance to experience challenging physical activities to assist them in rebuilding confidence and self-belief, and to participate in social events.
