Pulmonary Hypertension Association Uk

The PHA UK is the only charity in the UK especially for people affected by Pulmonary Hypertension a rare lung condition.

Founded 2000

  • Mission statement

We are dedicated to raising awareness of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension; investing in research and education; welfare and offering direct support and information to people with PAH, their families and all health professionals working with people affected by the disease.

Many people have never heard of PAH although it affects 6000 diagnosed people of all ages including children under the age of 1yr in the UK. It is a potentially serious lung disorder which puts relentless strain on the heart; severe breathlessness and a lack of energy are key symptoms. The impact of PAH can prove fatal and almost always means a lifetime dependency on drugs and
sometimes oxygen. For some, the only option is a lung and heart transplant.
