Established in 2003 (as The Dandelion Trust for Children), Dandelion Time is a farm-based charity working with children experiencing serious emotional and behavioural difficulties and their families.
Dandelion Time aims to support disadvantaged children aged 7-16 who are experiencing serious emotional and behavioural difficulties, often arising from traumatic events, physical, emotional or sexual abuse, neglect or domestic violence. Through working with the whole family we help children to overcome their difficulties, which have often led to aggressive or withdrawn behaviour, non-attendance or exclusion from school and a breakdown in family relationships. Our objective is to help struggling children to be better equipped to engage well with school, at home and in the community, and to give them the greatest chance for a brighter future. Their behavioural, emotional and social difficulties are often a result of, or made worse by difficult and complex home lives. Parents frequently struggle with chronic mental health difficulties and low self-esteem, have a history of drug and alcohol dependency, or have suffered from past abuse themselves. We support carers overcome their own emotional issues, leading to stronger family relationships and more stable home lives for referred children.
Dandelion Time aims to:
- To support vulnerable and disadvantaged children aged 7-16 experiencing serious emotional and behavioural difficulties and their families through a farm-based therapeutic programme.
