Founded 2011

  • Mission statement

    Our Mission:
Indiability is promoting acceptance, integration, inclusion and better sanitation for the physically disabled to have an impact on the strategic areas of education, health, sport, employment, gender equality and knowledge about disability.

    Why we exist:
Disabled people in India are disadvantaged and discriminated against. Even their own families and communities often exclude them. This must change.

We aim to confront social norms and change outdated attitudes to eliminate discrimination, which, in our hugely disparate country are easily forgotten and ignored.

We believe India is poorer as a nation if it does not fully value and encourage every citizen to achieve their full potential in life.

    What we do:
We work at the grass roots levels with local communities, organisations and leaders to design and implement projects that tackle head on the challenges the physically disabled face. We grow change agents to ensure transformation continues beyond our direct sphere of influence.

    Our aims are to:
    - Promote the value, ability and rights of people with physical disabilities and grow their confidence
    - Promote acceptance and social inclusion in group activities and everyday life, creating new models of integrated societies.
    - Address the lack of knowledge surrounding physically disabled people and the causes of disability.
    - Change negative traditional beliefs, prejudice and prohibition.
    - Seek new health and sanitation models, towards international targets

  • Aims

Indiability Foundation (IF) UK aims to:

    • Promoting greater inclusion into mainstream society by creating opportunities for the disabled and non-disabled to interact by forcing both communities to move from their comfort zone to a contact one
    • Empowering the physically disabled by providing them access to education and pathways to employment which increases their confidence allowing them to feel their own selfworth in their communities.
    • Tackling health and sanitation issues by providing access to mobility aids and seeking new models of sanitation towards international standards.
