Wheels for Wellbeing

Wheels for Wellbeing grew from voluntary efforts at Croydon Sports Arena. It provides cycling opportunities for people with disabilities in south London and a national information and enquiry service.

Founded 2007

  • Mission statement

Wheels for Wellbeing supports disabled people to cycle (whether on 2, 3 or 4 wheels), so they can enjoy the same benefits as anyone else, whether on or off the road. Disabled people can often enjoy other benefits, whether mitigating their impairment or experiencing freedom, independence and control which others take for granted. We probably have the widest range of cycles in the UK, including bikes, trikes, tandems, recumbents, handcycles and wheelchair cycles. We want everyone to enjoy cycling.

  • Aims

    Wheels for Wellbeing aims to:

    • To raise awareness among health authorities, highway authorities and other service providers or the importance and value of cycling for exercise and as a transport mode for people with disabilities.
    • To promote cycling as an activity for exercise and to improve health, wellbeing and independence for people with disabilities.
