Lineham Farm Childrens' Centre

Lineham Farm Children’s Centre provides an active residential for disadvantaged & disabled children, from some of the most deprived areas of Leeds. We are focused on building confidence & self esteem.

Founded 1993

  • Mission statement

Lineham Farm strives to provide disadvantaged and disabled children with an experience they will never forget. Each week up to 24 children aged between 8-11 come and stay with their teachers for an educational 5 day residential. During their stay the children take part in a varied programme of activities, including animal care, orienteering, environmental sessions, art, cycling, climbing and walking local country trails. All these activities are designed to broaden their horizons, increase self-confidence and physical well-being, whilst enabling them to learn in a fun environment.

  • Aims

Lineham Farm Childrens' Centre aims to:

    • To provide comfortable, safe accommodation and an excellent residential experience.
    • To promote an appreciation and awareness of wildlife, conservation issues and the environment as a valuable resource.
    • To provide access to as many risk assessed site based activities as possible for all children, regardless of ability, race, religion or gender
    • To give opportunities for small communal tasks, giving each individual a sense of self-worth and chance to build self confidence.
