Snow-Camp is the UK’s only registered charity using a combination of snowsports, life skills and employment training to support inner-city young people.
Through our programme journey young people gain numerous qualifications and are offered work placement and/or volunteer opportunities. In addition, our life-skills sessions help young people reflect upon the skills they are demonstrating whilst learning to ski or snowboard – perseverance, commitment, listening, patience and overcoming fear.
Our mission is to engage inner-city young people through snowsports to provide life-skills training, nationally recognised qualifications and vocational opportunities to increase their motivations and aspirations, enabling them to gain employment in the snowsports industry and beyond.
Snow-Camp aims to:
- ENGAGE youth by providing a young-people-friendly journey of accredited programmes.
- TEACH young people the skills they need to raise their aspirations and gain employment.
- IMPROVE levels of accessibility and participation in snowsports for inner-city young people.
- PROVIDE an environment where young people can thrive, develop and have fun.
