    UKCP produces publications and runs meetings and conferences to inform and consult on issues of concern to practitioners and support continuing professional development.

    As part of its commitment to protection of the public, UKCP works to improve access to psychological therapies, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards, and also deals with complaints against organisational members as well as individual members.

    The United Kingdom Council For Psychotherapy aims to:

    • 1.to promote the art and science of psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic counselling for the public benefit
    • 2.to promote research in psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic counselling, and to disseminate the results of any such research
    • 3.to promote high standards of education, training and practice in psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic counselling
    • 4.to promote the wider provision of psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic counselling for all sections of the public.
