  • Mission statement

The Soi Dog Foundation is a volunteer organization which aims to improve the lives of Thailand's street (Soi) dogs and cats. The main objectives are: to reduce the population of unwanted animals through sterilization programmes - to treat sick and injured animals and provide veterinary care where owners cannot afford veterinary bills - to shelter dogs that can no longer live on the streets, there are currently over 400 at our shelter in Phuket - to feed those street animals that otherwise would go hungry - to rehome suitable shelter animals - and very importantly to educate local communities about animal welfare. Our aim is to set an example for the Asian region how to humanely reduce the number of unwanted dogs and cats through spaying and neutering and to better the lives and living conditions of the stray dogs and feral cats of Asia. Soi Dog Foundation also actively campaigns against the illegal and barbaric dog meat trade.
