Salt of the Earth (SOTE) is an all-volunteer charity set up in 1988 to support the work of the rural development NGO 'Social Change and Development' (SCAD) in Tamil Nadu, India.

  • Mission statement

    Salt of the Earth fund rural development projects that enhance the lives of some of the most deprived and poor communities in Tamil Nadu, India. Projects implemented by our partners, SCAD, in India are focused on village development, empowering women, improving education, providing health advice and medical camps, caring for the elderly, enhancing the lives of children with disabilities, improving water resources and environmental activities. All of SCAD's work takes a long-term, integrated and strategic approach in response to specific village needs.
