Towards Tomorrow Together

Towards Tomorrow Together provide support, equipment, and resources and services to families affected by the death of a child, and the hospitals/professionals that care for them.

Founded 2012

  • Mission statement

Towards Tomorrow Together passionately support parents and families at one of the most difficult times they may face. They may be vulnerable, distressed and unsure of who can help when they experience the death of their child. Initial symptoms of grief include numbness, isolation, shock, fluctuating emotional states. There are things that can help at this time, and into the future.

The specialist baby loss bereavement services provide information, activities, equipment, resources and services to families affected by the loss of a baby in pregnancy (miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, termination of pregnancy for medical reasons, stillbirth), during labour and birth, or shortly after and as an infant (neonatal death, sudden infant death, traumatic death, terminal illness).

    We will

•Respond to the identified needs of a geographical area through activities, such as provision of memory boxes, cold cot systems, and services like bereavement photography, advocacy, mentoring.
•Respond quickly to the needs of an individual or family who approach us, who are experiencing an unusual intensity of grief, or are in crisis.
•Work with a variety of statutory, service, manufacturing, and voluntary sector agencies to share and improve upon current best practice.
•Raise awareness of issues linked with pregnancy, baby and child death.
•Have a committed board of trustees which will include different professional disciplines and bereaved parents.

  • Aims

    Towards Tomorrow Together aims to:

    • To promote healing in parents at the time of the death of their child. The benefit to this is alleviating the distress, reducing the support needed long term and supporting the family structure.
    • To provide support to families who have children at the time of the loss of their baby, and into the future. This will reduce child protection concerns, and ensure needs of children are identified.
    • To provide support and services to parents in subsequent pregnancies, providing choice of support available. This will reduce anxiety, mood difficulties, and support hospital services.
    • To raise awareness of issues surrounding pregnancy, baby and child loss.
