Abbie's Army

Abbie’s Army are a children's DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) brain tumour research charity, founded late 2012 in loving memory of Abbie.

Founded 2012

  • Mission statement

    Our mission is to :
Raise awareness and funding for DIPG research and help overturn it's 'terminal' prognosis.
Provide a useful resource , practical advice and support for other parents who receive this horrendous diagnosis for their child.

Currently there are no approved effective treatments or a CURE available. The average survival time from diagnosis is just 9 months.
Affecting 40 children a year in the UK and with insufficient research funding from larger National charities and no direct Government funding, parent led charities and advocacy groups worldwide are contributing to furthering the research effort.

  • Aims

    Abbie's Army aims to:

    • Supporting research centres or individuals who will make best use of available funding, developing research to expedited practical treatments for children suffering with DIPG brain tumours
