Charity information

Pelvic Radiation Disease Association

We are a charity set up to help the many thousands of cancer patients who have had pelvic radiotherapy and are suffering crippling and isolating short and long-term late effects from their treatment.

Founded 2012

  • Mission statement

We aim to provide support, advice and information for cancer patients who have or are having pelvic radiotherapy. We also campaign for better recognition of pelvic radiation disease, a little-known but widespread and devastating condition, by working with health professionals, other charities and relevant organisations.

Our charity is also working hard to improve the scope and range of treatment facilities within the NHS for sufferers of pelvic radiation disease.

  • Aims

Pelvic Radiation Disease Association aims to:

    • Promoting health and the relief from suffering for people suffering from pelvic radiotherapy-induced injury, through support and information.
    • Supporting and carrying out research into pelvic radiation disease, its causes and treatments, and working for improved facilities for and access to treatment throughout the UK.
    • Educating health and social care professionals and the public in understanding all aspects of pelvic radiation disease through advocacy, partnership and information campaigns.
