Youth Cancer Trust
Youth Cancer Trust
The Youth Cancer Trust provides support & holidays for teenagers and young adults with cancer (aged 14 to 30) from the UK and Ireland. The holidays take place in Bournemouth all year round
Tracy Ann house can occupy eight young people (4 cancer patients and 4 companions or 8 cancer patients) from Monday to Friday each week. The Youth Cancer Trust like to make every possible activity available (horse riding, go karting, water sports, bowling, sailing, beach hut on Alum Chine beach, karaoke…).
Testimonial evidence confirms that these young people desperately need to meet with peers who are undergoing similar trauma in their lives, relieving the sense of isolation they feel during illness and at such a critical age. The emphasis at The Youth Cancer Trust is upon fun, relaxation and communication. There is no other organisation, charitable or otherwise, which specifically targets this need as its core function. We constantly review The Youth Cancer Trust holiday scheme. The most direct evaluation is by encouraging instant feedback from the youngsters themselves who after a holiday with us report that they feel a renewed strength and confidence to continue their battle with cancer. We also receive positive feedback from their families and social workers.
