Dalkey Archive Press UK

Dalkey Archive Press, founded in 1980 to establish an international context for the appreciation of modern and contemporary literature, publishes about 50 books per year, mainly fiction, with a special emphasis on fiction in translation. As part of its founding principle, all books are kept permanently in print. It is careful to seek out literary works from countries that have been historically under-represented in the Anglophone world. The Press also publishes two critical magazines, the Review of Contemporary Fiction and CONTEXT.

Dalkey Archive’s authors have won major awards, including the Nobel Prize, the Pulitzer, Goncourt and Independent Foreign Fiction prizes. Beginning in 2010, Dalkey will publish annual anthologies showcasing fiction translated from throughout the world, inaugurated by The Best of European Fiction, forming a platform for literary exchange across the continent and beyond.
