Helena Kennedy Foundation

The Foundation exists to overcome social injustice by providing financial bursaries, mentoring and support to disadvantaged students from the further and adult education sectors.

Founded 1998

  • Mission statement

The Helena Kennedy Foundation is an independent, national, social action charity funded solely through voluntary donations. We help increase social mobility by opening doors for some of the poorest and most deprived in society.

Our annual Awards scheme help break through the psychological and practical barriers created by lack of family support, absence of inherited ‘know how’ and inadequate formal educational opportunities. We support disadvantaged students to study for a university degree, get a job and make their mark in the world and we help people realise that ‘what you know’ and ‘who you know’ and how the two work together hand in hand, are key to achieving career success and bringing about greater social justice.

  • Aims

    Helena Kennedy Foundation aims to:

    • To increase the number of bursaries awarded each year
    • To enhance the provision of opportunities and support to bursary award winners
    • To ensure the long term sustainability of the Foundation Objectives and Targets
