Our Mission: We Care, We Support, We Research, We Educate.

Our Objectives; prevention, symptom awareness, early diagnosis, support, promotion of clinically appropriate patient centred treatment.

Founded 1996

  • Mission statement

Ovacome was established in 1996 and is the only UK ovarian cancer charity providing dedicated support and advice through a specialist nurse-led helpline and on-line forum, giving expert guidance, personalised clinical information, emotional support and resources for women diagnosed with ovarian cancer or worried they might be at risk (BRCA1 OR BRCA2 gene carrier); and their family and friends.

We are unique as we are managed by a staff and trustee body with direct experience of ovarian cancer. Our CEO trained as a nurse and is a practicing health professional and an ovarian cancer survivor, as is our helpline nurse. We are a small highly dedicated team.

Every day 20 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer. In the UK there are around 20,000 women living with ovarian cancer. It claims over 4,000 women’s lives a year and over 7,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer annually. With your support, we can reach more women (Mothers, Daughters, Aunties, Sisters and Grandmothers) and their families and face the future with confidence together.

Ovacome is keyed into and influencing the wider debate and the latest developments in ovarian cancer research, prevention, treatment and policy work.

With your help through donations, fundraising, volunteering and campaigning we can change the outcomes for ovarian cancer from stories of loss to stories of survival!
