Blandford Youth Trust

The Blandford Youth Trust was established in 1988 to support the young people of Blandford Forum, Dorset and it's neighbouring villages. The work undertaken by the Trust aims to help vulnerable and disadvantaged young people. The Trust is committed to working in partnership with other agencies and has good working relationships with all such organisations.
Following some successful young people's projects in the community BYT now has as it's main focus a schools project based at The Blandford Secondary School that supports students in the local schools network. We work with children aged 10-18 providing one to one support for those facing a wide range of issues including family breakdown, emotional pysical and mental health problems. A full evaluation of our work is available from our office.
Our full time worker co-ordinates a highly acclaimed Peer to Peer Mentoring Scheme which trains and supports older students as they mentor those younger than themselves.
