Mission statement
Supporting the recovery of widows and orphans from the 1994 genocide through partnership with Solace Ministries. Projects include education support, sponsor a survivor, house-building, integrated community development, income generation, outreach support, craft importing...
Our other work is with The Living Church and the Healing and Reconciliation Ministry. We work with these partners to support around 70 street kids and are currently embarking on a new project to build vocational training and accommoddation facilities. Micro-income generation, education support, and vocational training for healing and reconciliation projects are also supported. In conjunction with a Rwandan Board and the International Christian College of Glasgow we are developing pastors training courses.
we have also recently begun to work with partners in DRCongo to support people affected by the violence in Eastern Kivu around Goma -
Aims
Comfort Rwanda & Congo aims to:
- Training of Rwandan church leaders
- The support of refugees and rape survivors in DR Congo
- The support of genocide survivors
- The rescue of street children and their integration into mainstream society
- Furtherance of healing and reconciliation in Rwanda through practical support of healed communities
